Low-e building glass has very high transmittance to the visible light and very high reflectivity to the infrared ray (especially medium infrared rays), so it has good heat insulation and heat preservation function.

1. Low-E glass has good function to obstruct the heat radiation permeate.
The surface radiance for common glass is about 0.84, while for Low-E glass it is below 0.25. This low-e radiation film of which thickness is less 1% of the hair thickness has very high reflectance to the infrared ray, it can reflect more than 80% of the infrared heat radiation, common clear float, decalescence glass can only reflect about 12%.
2. Good optics capability.
Low-e glass has high transmittance to the visible light, can reach above 80%, and has low reflectance, this makes it different with the traditional reflective coating glass, and the optics function changed a lot. From the outdoors, the appearance is more transparent, clean, it ensures the buildings day lighting and avoids the light pollution, it makes a soft and comfortable light environment.
